What the tool checks, and its limits

The list of mentions follows the service-public.gouv.fr sheet on mandatory invoice mentions (F31808, verified 11 August 2026): chronological number, dates, identity and address of both parties, SIREN, legal form and capital for companies, VAT numbers, line details, totals excluding and including VAT, due date, penalties, €40 fee and discount terms (C. com. L441-9, L441-10, D441-5; CGI ann. II, art. 242 nonies A).

The default penalty rate is the ECB rate plus 10 points, 12.40% for the second half of 2026; the legal minimum is three times the legal interest rate for professionals, 2.75% for the second half of 2026 (order of 26 June 2026, Official Journal of 30 June 2026), i.e. 8.25% (sheet F23211). Neither penalties nor the flat fee apply to consumers.

For a quote, the tool checks the validity period, dates and the acceptance block (sheet F31144). Quotes are only mandatory in some sectors, but they are binding once signed.

E-invoicing: since 1 September 2026 every VAT-registered business must be able to receive electronic invoices, and large and mid-sized companies must issue them; SMEs and micro-entrepreneurs issue from 1 September 2027, through an accredited platform. The reform adds four mentions: client SIREN, delivery address if different, nature of operations, VAT on debits option. The tool flags them separately. The PDF produced here is not a compliant electronic invoice (Factur-X, UBL or CII).

This tool is not legal or accounting advice. Not covered: non-EU operations, margin VAT schemes, deposit invoices, credit notes, Corsica and overseas VAT rates.

Nothing is sent to a server: calculations, checks, PDF and saving happen in your browser. The template link only carries settings (type, VAT regime, terms, colour), never a name, an address or an amount.
